Bank Holidays in August 2023: The month of August will see as many as 14 designated bank holidays. While all Sundays and second and fourth Saturdays of the month will be off days for banks across the country, some other holidays will only apply to specific states. Customers are advised to plan their bank visits prudently, as banks will observe closures on 14 specific dates due to various holidays, as per the data provided by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI).

August 28: Banks will remain shut in Kerala for Onam

August 29: Banks will remain shut in Kerala for Thiruvonam

August 30: Banks in Srinagar and Jaipur will be closed for Raksha Bandhan

August 31: Raksha Bandhan/Sree Narayana Guru Jayanthi/Pang-Lhabsol Banks will remain shut in Gangtok, Dehradun, Kanpur, Kochi, Lucknow, and Thiruvananthapuram

During these holidays, various banking services such as account opening, cash payments, cash withdrawals, chequebook applications, cheque issuance, fixed deposit operations, safe deposit lockers, demand drafts, loan applications, and account closures may not be available.
