Latin holiday kicks-off with Day of the Dead Festival - KFDM-TV News

As families prepared at home for Día de los Muertos, some were able to celebrate as a community.

Super Antojo Bakery hosted a Day of the Dead festival.

Food, culture, and traditions from Mexico collaborated to make a great festival.

Boys and girls of all ages dressed up as cultural figures to pay homage to unique Mexican traditions.

The purpose of the Day of the Dead is to pay tribute to departed loved ones and accept death as a natural part of life by approaching it with familiarity and without dread or worry. The celebration is based on customs from Mexico.
