Massillon Woman's Club to host holiday events - Massillon Independent

MASSILLON − The Massillon Woman’s Club will present several events throughout the holiday season at Five Oaks Mansion, 210 Fourth St. NE.

The historical home will be decorated for the holiday season, and the gift shop will be open during each occasion. Call 330-833-4896 for more information or to make reservations. Reservations open to the public two weeks prior to each event.

The first open house will be 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 11. It is free and open to the public.

Holidays at Five Oaks candlelight dinners will be Nov. 17 and 18 with a Sunday brunch on Nov. 19. Cost for dinner is $35 for members and for one member guest, and $38 for nonmembers. Cost for brunch is $25 for members and for one member guest, and $28 for the community.

The Holiday Lunch and Fashion Show, All That Glitters, will be 11 a.m. Nov. 30 and Dec. 1. Cost is $25 for members, $28 for the community.

Open House, Cookie Walk and Basket Raffle will be from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Dec. 17. It is free and open to the public. Homemade Christmas cookies will be for sale, and Santa will visit.

The Massillon Woman’s Club is a philanthropic organization open to all women. Its home is the historic Five Oaks Mansion.

CNN  —  This past weekend, I had one of the most unusual experiences of my life: a day of air travel that was easy, sensible, efficient — dare I say pleasant. Passengers and airport staff alike were friendly and polite. The airplane seat offered enough room for both of my legs and both of my arms. We took off on time and landed early.
